How to Interpret and Use the Statistics in Excel’s Data Analysis Toolpak

Participants will learn about Excel chart basics, including design, formatting, and manipulation techniques, along with how to create, copy, delete, and modify various chart types like column, line, pie, and bubble charts. We will also explore the application of more advanced techniques such as conditional formatting, sparklines, interactive checkboxes, and custom number formats. Additionally, we'll explore charts for visualizing changes over time, relationships, and parts-of-a-whole. Whether you're an Excel novice or a seasoned user seeking to polish your skills, this webinar will provide a comprehensive understanding of Excel's visualization capabilities.
Participants should have Microsoft Excel 365 or Excel 2019 installed on their computer prior to the webinar.
Objectives:

About the Presenters
Wendy Tietz, PhD, CPA, CMA, CGMA, CSCA is Professor of Accounting at Kent State University in Kent, OH, where she has taught since 2000. She teaches in a variety of formats, including large sections, small sections, and web-based sections. She has received the Michael and Mary Ann Cook/Deloitte Foundation Prize for Innovation in Undergraduate Teaching, awarded by the American Accounting Association.

Tietz is a member of the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She has published in Issues in Accounting Education and in Accounting Education: An International Journal and regularly presents at AAA regional and national meetings. Tietz is also a co-author of an accounting textbook, Managerial Accounting, by Braun & Tietz, 6th edition, Pearson Publishing, 2020, and Financial Accounting, by Thomas, Tietz & Harrison, 13th edition, Pearson Publishing, 2021.

Tietz received her Ph.D. from Kent State University. She received both her M.B.A. and B.S.A from The University of Akron. She worked in industry for several years, both as a controller for a financial institution and as the operations manager and controller for a recycled plastics manufacturer.

Tracie L. Miller (Nobles), PhD, CPA, is the program chair for the B.S. Accounting program at Franklin University. She has extensive teaching experience including faculty appointments at Austin Community College, Texas State University, Aims Community College, and The University of Texas-Austin. Dr. Miller received her doctoral degree from Texas A&M University. Her research interest includes financial literacy education, culturally responsive teaching, and online learning. She has public accounting experience with Deloitte Tax LLP. She serves in numerous leadership roles for American Accounting Association, American Institute of CPAs, Teachers of Accounting at Two-Year Colleges, and Texas Society of CPAs. Dr. Miller has received several teaching and professional awards including the AAA / J. Michael and Mary Anne / Deloitte Foundation Cook Prize, TXCPA Outstanding Accounting Educator, and AICPA Bea Sanders Award. Dr. Miller is also an author of several accounting textbooks published by Pearson.
